Each year, the Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS) identifies and honors the most talented young people in science and math. In its 103rd year, the competition once again honored 300 exceptional high school students from across the country and beyond who are advancing innovation and leadership in STEM.
These students weren’t just selected for their academics. They’re also known for their creativity, perseverance, and ability to tackle real-world challenges through research.
A Record-Breaking Year
This year, the competition saw nearly 2,500 applications from 795 high schools across 48 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, and even international locations such as China, Switzerland, and Malaysia. The diversity of ideas and talent was truly inspiring, but the 300 scholars rose to the top with projects that demonstrated not only their scientific expertise but also their potential to lead in the future.
Celebrating the Achievements
Each of these amazing young people receives a $2,000 award, and their schools receive the same amount to support STEM education. These awards are just the beginning of a journey that can make their future, and ours, even better.

On January 23, 40 finalists will be announced. These finalists will then head to Washington, D.C., in March to compete for over $1.8 million in awards, including the top prize. Beyond the competition, the experience will connect them with like-minded peers and mentors, opening doors to lifelong opportunities.
